Legal support staff provide administrative and legal support to the directorates within the Office of Public Prosecutions' (OPP) Legal Practice.

Legal support staff work closely and collaboratively with solicitors and other OPP employees within the directorates, providing legal and administrative support to ensure that operational requirements are met.

Role and responsibilities

Legal support staff provide support to Directorate Managers and solicitors. They also:

  • establish and review best-practice processes and procedures
  • participate in projects
  • liaise with solicitors and external parties
  • assist solicitors with a range of duties including file management
  • act as a point of contact for general phone enquiries
  • prepare correspondence and documents .
