Funds from Super Coop sales to aid training of court support dog

An initiative by staff at the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) to sell Super Coop plush toys has raised $1100 to help fund the training of support dogs that can provide comfort to victims of crime while they give evidence in court.

Bitcoins auctioned in national first

In a landmark outcome for Victorian law enforcement agencies and the Victorian Asset Confiscation Scheme, almost 25,000 bitcoins confiscated from a convicted drug trafficker were sold last week at auction.

Victoria is believed to be the first jurisdiction in Australia to confiscate and liquidate this form of digital currency under confiscation laws.
