OPP Principal Solicitor Advocate appointed a Magistrate

Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) Principal Solicitor Advocate Simon Zebrowski has been appointed a Victorian Magistrate, Attorney-General Martin Pakula has announced.

Mr Pakula said Mr Zebrowski has extensive experience in criminal law and will be a welcome addition to the Magistrates’ Court.

Mr Zebrowski was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 2003 and joined the OPP as an Early Resolution Advocate in December 2010.

He was appointed to the role of Principal Solicitor Advocate in July 2015 and appeared in many jury trials and plea hearings, bail applications, committal hearings, confiscations proceedings and coronial inquests.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Brendan Kissane QC said Mr Zebrowski has always produced work of a high standard in his time at the Victorian Bar and the OPP.

“He has performed important roles in early resolution and advocacy, and has made an excellent contribution to the OPP” Mr Kissane said.

Solicitor for Public Prosecutions John Cain also congratulated Mr Zebrowski on his appointment.

“The appointment is well deserved and a recognition of his hard work,” Mr Cain said. “It is also a recognition of the quality of our solicitor advocates.”
