Crown Prosecutor appointed County Court Judge

The Director of Public Prosecutions Kerri Judd QC has welcomed the appointment of Kevin Doyle as a judge of the County Court of Victoria.

The appointment was announced today by the Attorney-General Jill Hennessy.

“I am pleased to congratulate Kevin on his appointment and wish him well as he continues to serve the State of Victoria in this important role,” Ms Judd said.

Chief Crown Prosecutor Brendan Kissane QC said Mr Doyle had made an important contribution to Crown Prosecutors' Chambers since joining in July 2018.

“He has made a big impact in a short period of time and we will miss both his work ethic and enthusiasm in Chambers,” Mr Kissane said. “This is a well-deserved appointment.”

Mr Doyle was admitted to practice in 1987 after studying law at Monash University.

He joined the Victorian Bar in 1995 after working as a solicitor for the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and the Dandenong Legal Aid Office. He also appeared in all jurisdictions including jury trials, pleas and appeals while working as a criminal law solicitor for the Northern Aboriginal Legal Aid Service in Darwin.
