Solicitor positions at the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) are highly sought after and are recruited following a competitive process. Each year up to 1000 applications are received for solicitor positions.

What we look for in all solicitor roles:

  • confirmation that you are admitted or eligible to be admitted to the legal profession as an Australian lawyer
  • an understanding of the OPP – what we do, why
    we do it
  • high level interpersonal and time management skills
  • commitment to OPP values
  • demonstrated skills and experience applicable to the role
  • general interest in and knowledge of criminal law and a commitment to serving the community.
