Crown Prosecutor Appointed

Victorian barrister John Dickie has been appointed a Crown Prosecutor.

Director of Public Prosecutions Kerri Judd QC and Chief Crown Prosecutor Brendan Kissane QC both welcomed the appointment.

“Mr Dickie has substantial experience prosecuting criminal law in the Victorian and Commonwealth jurisdictions and I look forward to having him in Crown Prosecutors’ Chambers,” Ms Judd said.

Mr Kissane said Mr Dickie will add experience and depth to Chambers.

“He has a wealth of experience in criminal law and I am sure this appointment will be well-received by all,” Mr Kissane said.

Mr Dickie was admitted to practice law in 1995 after completing his law degree at Monash University.

He began his legal career as an articled clerk and legal officer at the Commonwealth DPP and went on to work there in a number of senior legal roles over 10 years.

Before signing the Bar Roll in 2010, Mr Dickie worked as Deputy Managing Lawyer in the Criminal Law Division at Victoria Legal Aid and as a Principal Solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions.
