Crown Prosecutor Appointed

Victorian barrister Kathryn Hamill has been appointed a Crown Prosecutor.

Director of Public Prosecutions Kerri Judd QC and Chief Crown Prosecutor Brendan Kissane QC both welcomed the appointment.

“Ms Hamill has substantial experience in criminal prosecutions and a thorough knowledge of the law. I look forward to the contribution she will make to the administration of justice,” Ms Judd said.

Mr Kissane said Ms Hamill will add experience and depth to Chambers.

“Ms Hamill has a wealth of experience having practised in a wide range of areas and we are pleased to welcome her to the Crown Prosecutors’ Chambers” Mr Kissane said.

Ms Hamill was admitted to practice law in 2004 after completing her law degree at Monash University.

She began her legal career as an articled clerk at Behan & Speed Lawyers and went on to practice as a solicitor.

Since signing the Bar Roll in 2009, Ms Hamill has had extensive criminal law, administrative law and commercial law experience.
