New OPP Crown Prosecutor appointed

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cara Foot as a Crown Prosecutor at the OPP.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Mark Gibson KC and Solicitor for Public Prosecutions Abbey Hogan welcomed the appointment.

“I congratulate Ms Foot on her appointment. Her extensive prosecutorial experience and sound judgment will be a strong asset to Crown Prosecutors’ Chambers,” Mr Gibson said.

Ms Foot signed the Victorian Bar Roll in 2015. She has a background in both prosecution and defence and has appeared regularly on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions over the past decade. She has extensive experience in the County and Supreme Courts, including significant jury trial work, as well as in the coronial jurisdiction.

Prior to her admission to the Bar, Ms Foot worked as a solicitor and solicitor advocate at the OPP, managing a caseload of complex indictable matters and appearing regularly in the Magistrates’ and County Courts.
