OPP Crown Prosecutor Angela Ellis Appointed County Court Judge

Victorian Government Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes today announced six new appointments to the County Court of Victoria.

One of these appointments is OPP Crown Prosecutor Angela Ellis.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Brendan Kissane QC congratulated Ms Ellis on her appointment as a judge of the County Court of Victoria.

Mr Kissane thanked Ms Ellis for her service to Chambers and said she would be greatly missed by all the staff.

“Angela has made a significant contribution to Crown Prosecutors’ Chambers and will continue to serve the State of Victoria in this important role” Mr Kissane said.

“We will miss the enthusiasm and vitality she brings to Chambers. I wish her all the best in her new role.”

Ms Ellis was appointed a Crown Prosecutor in 2018. This followed 13 years as a barrister during which she regularly appeared on behalf of the OPP, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, WorkSafe Victoria and for defence in a wide variety of complex matters.
